All 01:58
I’m looking at the tiny but thinking of the mighty Is there any difference there at all? I think I always knew that the universe was huge But I didn’t dwell on it much All this life we know, maybe any life at all Is all packed onto this tiny little ball From a distant view ’tis all so beautifully smooth What on Earth goes on down there at all….
2.
Everyone’s special especially you Nobody does things as you do Nobody feels the way that you feel The thoughts that you think — no-one can steal No-one can touch what you are deep down inside It’s up to you to keep it right ‘Cos everyone’s special especially you Nobody knows but they might help you to Life is a wonder though living is hard It’s worth a good look for better or bad Look for perfection too close and you’ll find it’s at fault Not just you — that’s the way of it all It should be easier to forgive when you know you’re flawed Everyone’s special especially you Nobody knows the things you do Nobody has what’s unique to you But they all have special weaknesses too Everyone’s special especially you and you And you and you and you and you and He and she and jeez Now I’m confused But it’s ok to be In a curious way

Pixel 03:42
The sun is sitting up there and just staring down on me A giant burning ball that gives life’s engine its gasoline On our little sphere down here that hangs in endless space The most precious gemstone for us in the greater scheme Living in a giant picture, seeing just a small bit I’m a tiny pixel being on a photo wall That’s longer than all cyberland and limitlessly tall Curved and bent and twisted with no ends at all it seems Life is but a flash A snapshot’s all we see And photons like you and me Light the colours in the scene Living in a giant jigsaw on a tiny single piece The difference imperceptible if my own history ceased But I like a puzzle and while I’m here I want a look Glad to have my cameo in life’s giant story book
4.
Aspirations 03:25
From here on in I’ll try to take in As much of being here As I can While I am In this world with Senses sound If fortune should allow me To be surrounded With what counts. Junk is out Trash is out There’s too much good here To care for all that Shallow pap; I’ll turn my back to it and Face what’s made to last; And presents from the past That we still feed off- Thank you folks for that. While it’s my turn To walk this earth To live and love And learn and laugh And cry and try To leave a brighter light behind me. The stream is short; For value dive deep To find the riches Down there for keeps. Why wait for a scrape? A near-death escape? To wake to life that Begins here today. Day in day out I’ll look and listen out For as much of what it means To be here as I can While I am
5.
Ring a Bell 03:27
We have freedom of speech, freedom to learn Freedom to choose if you can earn Freedom to eat, freedom to move But what do we do? but sit in a groove And gorge on goo till it’s no longer sweet We lost the meaning now nothing’s a treat Fill the land with wasted meat Which for all we know was taken from afar From under the noses of those who starve Ring a bell? Freedom to read any book Freedom to see if you care to look Freedom to know but find it too hard So we grab at conclusions and take out the tar And pick up the stones and start to throw At others' sins, ignoring our own The glasshouse is thriving but getting too small For our voracious habits they're fighting wars to the death All out of our sight but it may come back To haunt us yet We can vote with our feet, vote at the stores They’re dying in the east to vote at the polls Vote with your pocket, it’s your remote But despite all our views we vote like fools For the greedy buffoons, the gluttonous goons ‘Cos they’ll have you believe you can get some too And all of your cares will be bought away So you cheer them on — “good on ya boyo” you say Till you find they’ve been screwing though you kinda knew But it seemed okay when they weren’t doing it to you But now you’re awake and it’s all too late But maybe we’ll know better next time Maybe Someday Ring a bell?
6.
I’m working for the big men for a dollar a day I’m working for the big men for a dollar a day They’re strong and smart and from the west they say But little shits when it comes to pay The big men and their a dollar a day I’m working for the children ten thousand miles away I’m working for the children ten thousand miles away Grinding out my childhood days So they can have theirs full of play The little children ten thousand miles away I’m working for you Murphy so you can live ease I’m working for you Murphy so you can live ease I’m being fleeced so you get it cheap Don’t have to dig into those pocket deep Do you Murphy? And so you should be pleased

Fine Lines 05:03
One man’s mighty mountain’s another hill of beans One man’s vital fountain’s another’s filthy stream One’s spilling milk is another’s stormy tea If that is not your cuppa why not try this glass of whiskey One man’s trove of treasure’s another’s heap of scrap One’s machine of leisure’s another’s world wide trap For some a great catastrophe’s become a golden chance One destroys and dumps what is desperately in want It’s a fine line between love and hate A fine line between pity and contempt A fine line between war and peace Boom and bust and greed and need Starving savagery and common dignity With the flick of a finger, the flap of a wing One flash of genius can change everything A moment of madness then all is unhinged A fraction of an inch and you’re in another life And Easy Street becomes the Alley of No Light One man’s mighty medicine’s another’s toxic well One rejoicing family’s another poisoned hell One man’s got his freedom that another one serves People seem to get what others deserve One lady’s gent is another’s crooked cad “I know he does some genocide but he’s really not that bad” He feeds and clothes his children, you never see them sad Lessons in emotion from callous Mum and Dad It’s a fine line between good and bad luck A fine line between fortunate and not A fine line between virtue and vice Dark and bright and day and night There’s nothing on a sphere between far left and right With the flick of a finger, the flap of a wing One flash of genius could save everything A moment of madness then all is unhinged A fraction of an inch and you’re in another life From Easy Street to a whole other world of strife One man’s god almighty’s another’s Santa Claus One man’s flight of fancy’s another’s lifelong cause One’s superstition’s what another calls faith The good lack conviction while the worst are full of hate It’s a fine line from apathetic to depraved A fine line between the stupid and the brave A fine line between fantasy and rape A fine line between comfort and despair A fine line between well and sick A fine line between food and shit Weak and strong and clever and wrong Short and long life And none

The moon and stars are there a long time and will be a long time yet You and I get the twinkle of an eye and no-one knows what’s next This can be heaven or a terrible hell — so far our luck holds We calm each other in the fiery swell and warm each other against the cold When darkness comes we’ll make our own fun And ride on through to the dawn In the day we smile at what’s done And dream of what’s to come The sun has shone for many a day, they say it’s got a few to go Although it’s only one small star of how many who can know? It gives us our light and lets us our life along with our precious little globe And it won’t care what happens down here it just burns away on its own But you and I depend on each other We can’t get by on our own We need each other to catch our rays Or else we die in the cold Space and time go on a long way Don’t know where they end But you and I are side by side Believing we’re forever friends So let the moon and stars go ‘round and around, a circle of dancing souls Maybe we’re to join them someday and find out where time goes There’s a universe inside as well as out there, maybe love goes everywhere A universe in here as well as out there; between the cracks of reality — who can know?

Enough 03:53
Enough enough! Enough enough! I have enough of stuffing up my life with stuff Stuffing up my gut with stuff I need to cut Tucking into lushy muck in such a rut Such a glut but still I thirst Too full up to even fit it out my But still I lust for more I gorge and I gorge Lest I’d be bored I pour and abhor In this final feast they said would never cease Throw some crumbs to those least then shut the door Enough enough! Enough enough! I have enough of stuffing up my life with stuff The fridge is stuffed, the wardrobe stuffed Yet I view the neighbours with green disgust With their monstrous hut — still full up Stuck in a rut of acquiring stuff Still we lust for more To keep up the score Lest we’d look poor Hoard from the horde Telling them “tough” with an ignorant strut Abusing our luck with snots in the trough Enough enough! Enough enough! I have enough of stuffing up my world with stuff Bins full up, the land full up With good things we’re turning into toxic stuff The air is dirt, the sea is worse We’re sucking all the life out of this earth we gut Still we lust for more Don’t mention what’s in store Lest feelings be sore Danger’s ignored And those cursed with no crust who want to be like us Instead of making they’d be taking but there won’t be Enough enough! Not good enough Can we have a laugh without being feckless fucks? Too much hurt, getting worse Put the purse before the person much too much The future’s fucked if we don’t wise up Nature must get shot of us And our world will burst Watch it rust As we flush ourselves bust Enough guff Enough bluff Enough fluff Enough Enough Enough….

Climbers falling Divers drowning Sprinters stalling Clowns frowning Waiters rushing Their patience failing Doctors fearing there is no cure Thorns are tearing Hearts are breaking The princess dies before she wakes Forests falling Deserts forming Ice is melting The sun cries Medals for fools Medals for greed Power for goons And money for their friends Blanket breaks Window tears The palace blows After ninety-nine years Climbers falling Divers drowning Books are burning Rubbish is fed Jump from Everest To the ocean floor To miss the yesman’s Land of war

Lies 03:02
Black lies white lies You lie so so do I Good lies, bad guys How to tell the good guys apart How to know? Fat lies thin lies Two faces in disguise Sounds good sounds right If you don’t hear the other side How low will you go To get them onside Before we also become worse Than what we despise? Bad lies good lies Or are lies ever wise? Bald-faced self-lies All into the web we fly A mirror of blind eyes Deny denial lies Is it all we can do to strive Our own hypocrisy to minimise Smile lies advertise Fake life, style lies Who buys hype lies Brain-killing repeat lies Take you for a ride On the backs of others’ lives Promise you the earth Then land you too deep in dearth Old lies, sacred, scared Hide where the truth lies Wooly wolves cover eyes Who decides to let sleeping dog lies Lie Right lies left lies Omissive, half, and counter lies Enemy and ally lies Authorised to misguide Official eyes moralise Poison propagandas polarise Euphemise to justify And terrorise Innocent lives

The eggs have all been broken but the omelette’s in the bin The clientele is rumbling but the chefs destroyed the hen The bricks are all erect where not even ghosts would call home Cheaply constructed fortunes crumble back to shrugging stone Forgotten bread uneaten — mouldy mountains from the grain Poking fortune in the eye is a dangerous rotten game But don’t you worry baby, don’t you worry about a thing Just find a voice of comfort to pin your hopes and cling Don’t mind if it’s not true enough to stand in the fiddler’s wind Truth lies in the convenience of never having to think The fish are finished, dumped back dead into the desert deep Algae blooms now rule the world in a soup no-one can eat And the deepest darkest woods, its mysteries cleared by man Now what’s truly scary is the fruitless barren sand But don’t you worry baby, don’t you worry your little head There’s a man I’m going to vote for who says the Earth will heal itself Oh but sorry maybe that is very true But the involuntary adjustments will mean the end for me and you And with the black gold extracted, leaving a fracking mess Ah but now the ice is melted so we can get at all the rest And when those veins are shot up, collapsed and drained by genius man He’ll shake his head still stuck there looking underneath the sand But don’t you worry baby, don’t you mind those science heads There’s a brainy billionaire-line boss who says their just in it for themselves Don’t be sorry baby, t’won’t be the end of the world With one great mighty cull this infection will be purged With the coal all turfed out black billows crowd the sky Men will still be digging for reasons to deny But there’ll be no more negative equity, no more water bills to pay No more of fucking anything, we’ll have thrown it all away But don’t you worry baby, never mind those who’d scare The Earth will persevere and so will we with our laissez-faire Sorry now they’d tell you life will carry on Like our many victims our kind will be gone Don’t you worry baby, don’t even think about that stuff Just you keep on sleeping, maybe Mam and Daddy will wake up in time Before it gets above your head, but I wouldn’t hold your breath Last chance now to cry my baby while there may be some hope left

The Me Party 06:07
It’s the stingy whingy mingy whiney wealthy party They wouldn’t even give you the steam off their tea But they want you to be free to service their greed They want you to be free to let them own everything Free to lick the slime off their boots As they kick your mind free of truths If they don’t make the law They just fix it to suit To keep exclusive rights to all the loot It’s the stingy whingy swingeing swindling wealthy party Crying in their china that you won’t let them be Free to drown the world in ignorance, condemn you as élite Not if you’re a billionaire but only if you like to read Free to diseducate and rule Bolstered by feudalistic fools They’d be mediaeval masters Kings and queens in armoured castles No more state just private armies for the few It’s the stingy whingy impingeing infringeing nasty party Universal human rights is not their cup of tea They think their god gives them the right to trample on the weak The right to exercise their sicko sadistic streak Free to stick their nose into your room Can’t let you do what feels natural to you In your private bed They can’t get those images out of their head With their perverted moral compass gone askew It’s the stingy whingy bitchy witchy nasty party Their cup is overflowing with self-righteous piety As they kill the born in prison, kill the born in their wars Get you born to feel their scorn down on the ghetto floor Where you’re free to buy their bullets and shoot Free to make your sons into brutes To join their fight for greedom But their own sons — no you won’t see them No they’ll round up gulls and dolts who have no clue It’s the stingy whingy tiny-minded meany party Embittering their brimming cup with spoilt-brat self-pity As they try to realise their dark-age fantasy They’re mad as hell that you don’t take their hateful nonsense seriously Mad as health is offered to the poor Mad and they can’t take it anymore Their trickle tax-break charity They say is control enough for poverty For which God forbid there’d ever be a cure It’s the stingy whingy tricky sicky nasty party To find them you go blindly right up the narrow street While scalding melts the ice and fish and trees and bees The only storm that they can see is brewing in their tea They kill debate, creatively denying With their domineering dinosaur minds They’re liberal with facts And other people’s lives As we charge toward the cliff of human time
14.
Heaven #1 03:58
Get me to heaven lord to be with my friends I’ll sing your praises in exchange for a good end So we can sit with you all safe and smug Looking at the damned we can only smirk and shrug As they writhe in agony forever more Infernally eternally in your pit of gore We would fell pity but there’ll be no room In a heart in Heaven for them that’s doomed For you promise us only joy For all your supplicating girls and boys Who pray and pray like me every day ‘Cos I know how you have to hear how we think you’re great We even pray for sinners as you say Although it seems, I’m afraid, for them it’s all in vain I try to warn them to follow and obey But they refuse and choose to go their errant ways Yeah I try to warn them as best I could To stuff up their brains with the one good book But they use their eyes not as they should No they heard of other things and just had to look Ah well so it seems for them ’twill be too late Never mind at least I know I’ll be saved So get me to heaven Lord to meet my friends I promise all the praise you need to give me a good end
15.
Heaven #2 04:23
I got to the gate and I was feeling good Did most of the things I was told I should I worshipped and prayed to get you pleased Told of your glory and followed the creed I did hold my beliefs despite my eyes Defied all those dirty heathen science minds Devoted my days to crushing those who sin God you’re great now please let me in Dang! You're wrong! Down you go! You’re not getting in here with your phony holy show Think I can’t see through your flattery? Selfish salvation — seeking won’t do it for me What did I do wrong lord, who do I blame? Was it just the part of the world from whence I came? Why did you put me here then in with the wrong crowd Drifting blind with the wrong guide in a sheepish cloud? I backed the wrong horse and now the burning second prize Is eternal dark paralysis instead of paradise Should I have spread my bets each way just in case? I thought I’d followed the righteous course to be well placed Dang! You're wrong! Down you go! Having inherited the Earth in perfect health It was there for you to discover and enjoy But as soon as you could you fattened up and set out to destroy You had the master brain to fix it all Instead you let it go, handing greed the reins You had your choice of fine minds to learn from and befriend But preferred to pick petty fights and quickly condemn So there’ll be no reward for the wantonly inane And you’re not coming near my house after the mess you made Of that beautiful oasis of the universe So get back down there boy and make it work If I get to the gates I won’t know my fate A pat on the back or a slam in the face But till then if we can make this earthly life improve Whither or whatever, surely we can’t lose
16.
It’s an eye for an eye till everyone is blind And in the screams and the roars reason is ignored An ear for an ear but no-one wants to listen anyway It’s a lie for a lie till everyone’s deceived And if the truth should trickle through it can’t be believed A mind for a mind till we’re reduced to one or other mob It’s a head for a head and no-one gets ahead And anybody left will be way back behind A life for a life till any kind of good is dead You can fight fire with fire till everything is burned Kill and die by the sword till everything’s unlearned Blood lust and thirst will put your kids in hell The only war we need is a war on war and to starve starvation Deprive deprivation of its power to deprave It’s everybody’s fault and will take everyone to call a halt ‘Cos we can all fuck each other up and knock each other down Piss each other off and have each other on Put each other out and do all of ourselves in But then we’d all be fucked up, knocked down Pissed off, had on Put out and done in

Kill em' All 05:12
Kill ‘em all kill ‘em all — the big and the small Kill ‘em all kill ‘em all — if they’re like that at all Kill ‘em all kill ‘em all — and call it their fault Kill ‘em all kill ‘em all — till there’re none left at all Kill all the bad guys, their brothers and friends Their mothers and babies, the terror to end Their fathers and cousins and neighbours must die So what if they’re innocent? We have to save lives Kill ‘em all kill ‘em all — show them we’re strong Kill ‘em all kill ‘em all — our might is never wrong Kill ‘em all kill ‘em all — a hundred to one Kill ‘em all kill ‘em all — show them how it’s done Drone on and on about freedom and peace Ensuring bondage and battles don’t cease Pump up a despot, say “he’s our sonofabitch” When the machine needs some oiling we can flick the big switch Kill ‘em all kill ‘em all — in the name of the lord Kill ‘em all kill ‘em all — with a prayer and a war Kill ‘em all kill ‘em all — why don’t they leave us alone? Kill ‘em all kill ‘em all — why do they hate us so? If you get one alive who says he hasn’t a clue Extract what he knows even if it’s not true Don’t let them play dumb, make him succumb Remember we’re the good guys whatever we’ve done Kill ‘em all kill ‘em all — don’t hear what they say Kill ‘em all kill ‘em all — blow their grievances Kill ‘em all kill ‘em all — till they agree to be free Kill ‘em all kill ‘em all — till they vote the right way Teach them a lesson they’ll never forget If you’re caught in error pretend to regret Don’t you start heeding those bleeding hearts Just think of your children as we tear theirs apart Kill ‘em all kill ‘em all — the old and the young Kill ‘em all kill ‘em all — don’t wait for what they maybe will have done Kill ‘em all kill ‘em all — till all the killers are gone Kill ‘em all kill ‘em all — it’s worked up to now Kill ‘em all kill ‘em all — till the end of the quest Kill ‘em all kill ‘em all — even then we won’t rest Kill ‘em all kill ‘em all — till we’re evilly bereft Kill ‘em all kill ‘em all — till there’s no enemy no baddies no jungle no oil wells no beauty no pity no mercy no empathy no innocence no laughter no community no nothing left

Island 03:42
I’m on a boat to the island of my dreams To join good folk who feel just like me And we’ll all be friends, happy and free And it’ll be on reality TV Clever me, to be born an ideal Superior being, right in pigment, gender, creed And we’ll at last be free from the right-on bleeding hearts And there’ll be no need to put up with lesser beings No more wishy-washy weeny tip-toe PC tossers I’m on a boat to fulfill my fantasy With real folk who know what to believe And we’ll all vote for an island at peace What a show for reality TV But as we approached my heart sank to the seabed As I trained my eyes on the island of my dreams Although as advertised it was sunny and pretty And all the people there think just like me They were black and yellow pink and green-eyed Gold-haired christian heathen hindu Male and female gay and not And not my nation or my tribe at all I’m on a boat to the island of my dreams Oh what a show this is going to be Who’d want to live on the island of my dreams? Who’d want to go to the island of my dreams? Who’d want to vote for the island of my dreams? Whoever wants to leave has to share the same boat Hope it gets a hole

Icon Nick had a good lick when he played that lead guitar But now he’s not young he only uses his tongue to shoot off at the bar Iron Nick liked to pick on those weaklings down below But now his rippled neck became a crippled feck from snooting down his nose Nervous Neddie and Nagging Nelly washed their brains with soap on telly He got fed up and thought instead he’d keep it clean with his head in a wellie Waster Wally had so much lolly he couldn’t stuff it all in a shopping trolly So off he waddled to the orphanage and went and made it into another folly Live and let live, each to his own But really sometimes I don’t know Simple Simon thought to break a hymen was the height of sophistication But rats and mice do just as nice when they seek gratification Big Fat Freddie’d so much bread at the ready he couldn’t stop stuffing up with more So to lose weight he went to Haiti and found much more than being bored Tut-tut Mother was so full of love she couldn’t bear the future So she dried her tears and went through the years just believing what did suit her Bleeding Harty joined the party he thought would be for the common best Soon they taught him how to be bought and show a finger to the rest Xenophobe Seán couldn’t help but moan that his country’s been overrun So he’s upped and gone to where they all come from to be a white lord in the sun Live and let live, each to his own But really sometimes it’s hard to know Populist Pete had stinky feet so he always kept his own shoes on Just as well ’cos when he heard that bell he’d have to be ready to run Musicless Mandy had a ghoulish band that scared the midnight masses But the ghastly group became such a scoop she now gives journalists classes Bob the gob excited the mob but they said his songs were too wordy Now they boo and hiss and moan he doesn’t even use a microphone just plays the hurdy-gurdy Live and let live, each to his own But really sometimes you just can’t know

Escape 07:05
Escape into your mind Escape into your wine Escape into your sleep Feel yourself unwind Escape into your dreams But if you can’t and it seems You’re condemned to lie in wait For the dawn of day Escape into the light And when that’s too bright Go hiding in the dark Steal into the night Sneak into the crowd And when that’s too loud Find a secret little nook Escape into your book Flee the solitude Introverted mood Join the racing mob Go and get a job Escape into your work And if it’s boring murk You’re free to fantasise Flee your rotten luck What are you running from? Can you make it go away? Are the things that you love or loathe Changing day to day? Run into romance An erotic trance Rolling on a beach In exotic lands Escape pervasive sands of time In every strand In every part of life In everything extant Escape into your faith Flee the facts you hate Jump into your cause Excuse its awkward flaws Escape into a war It’s an adventure shur When you find there’s nothing worse Climb into your hearse Where do you want to be? A new reality? Just to be fear and pain free Is it all you really need? Get into a sport Run around and jump and roar Or a game of high finance Till it fills and takes your pants Escape into your ego Say you’re a VIP though You know it’s all just muck You just rode your luck Get into your art Spilling out your heart Escape into the song Don’t make it too long Why do we flee? Are we ever really free? Is it just a change of scenes That it ever really means? Sink into a joint Maybe there’s the point And when you’re sick of sitting stoned Go running ‘round the roads Escape into a new leaf Get into other peoples’ grief Certainly no joke But we need to laugh to cope Escape into your kids Hide inside your home And when the pressure builds Break up and pine alone What are you looking for? The illusive holy grail? Be sure enjoy the journey Or you’ll ultimately fail Escape into the past Here and now will never last If you think the future’s great Don’t drown in half a glass Happy’s not a place Just a passing phase A feeling and a state of mind In a little snatch of time
